Location: Hybrid work, Los Angeles area, travel and overnight as necessary

Position Title: Parish Coordinator of Young Adult Ministry
Position Summary

Christus Ministries seeks a person with strong pastoral skills to serve primarily as the parish young adult minister at American Martyrs Catholic Community in Manhattan Beach, CA (75%) and support other Christus Ministries programs (25%). He/She will help develop and implement engaging and prayerful opportunities for diverse young adults and families to grow in genuine faith, community, and service. He/She will also participate in ongoing formation as part of the Christus Ministries team and collaborate closely with parish staff, clergy, and volunteers to create a welcoming environment that encourages active discipleship and servant leadership among young adults.
Duties & Responsibilities
Provide spiritual support and development to those involved in Young Adult Ministry at American Martyrs Catholic Community (AMCC YAM).
Serve as the lead of the SALT (Serving As Leading Together) Team.
Serve as the lead coordinator for Word & Wisdom Wednesdays (WWW) to organize and host weekly gatherings.
Lead and assist the SALT Team and Committees in developing, planning, and implementing events related to service/social justice, community, and prayer for young adults.
Maintain an updated database of young adults via Parishstaq and Google Drive.
Accurately record, track, and categorize all financial transactions.
Attend Christus Ministries' weekly team meetings.
Attend leadership, SALT, and YAM meetings at AMCC as necessary.
Engage young adults and the broader AMCC community to spark connections and ask questions about faith through the Curiosity Corner on Sundays after the 9:45 am and 12:00 pm Masses.
Assist the Christus Ministries staff to develop and implement programs for young adults and families with young children.
Serve, discern, and collaborate with the Christus Ministries staff using “discernment in common” as the habitual way of proceeding.
Develop skills in giving talks/presentations in a variety of settings, including learning to adapt Ignatian Spirituality to young adults of diverse cultures and contexts.
Participate in ongoing spiritual and communal formation with the Christus Ministries team.

Preferred Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
3+ years experience in ministry (ideally young adult ministry).
Degree in Theology, Pastoral Ministry, or related field.
Knowledge of Catholic teachings and catechesis related to young adult ministry.
Strong Catholic values and/or a willingness to grow in faith.
Exceptional proficiency in administrative organization, mentoring, accompaniment, and public speaking.
Follows the AMCC Young Adult Ministry mission and vision as summarized in this document.
