THE JOURNEY
This past year has been a nonstop journeying road for us. Moving to a different state, navigating new jobs, moving homes twice.
We had prayed for this change for so long that when He gave us this opportunity that we forgot to look back and recognize Him on this path of life.
In today’s Gospel, the two men are walking on the road to Emmaus discussing what had happened to Jesus. Jesus appeared behind them and stopped them, asking what they were talking about - but they did not recognize him at first. When they had dinner together and some time to recognize Jesus, they realized what was going on and who it was.
Lent allows us time to reflect on our lives and it gives us a chance to slow down and think about our journey in life. Like the two men on the road to Emmaus, we did not recognize Jesus right away. After some time and reflection, we realized that Jesus was right there the whole time guiding us and helping us on this new journey.
